Virtuosic Seattle company brought

to Cincinnati for the first time

In another streak of premieres, Mutual Dance Theatre brings guests Whim W’Him to Cincinnati for the first time. Led by Belgian Olivier Wevers — whose career began with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet —, Whim W’Him performs virtuosic and visually-rich work by both Wevers and prominent guest artists.

In a collection of works Seattle Times calls “must-see,” the concert will include choreography by Whim W’Him’s Founding Director, Olivier Wevers, Chicago’s Robyn Mineko Williams, and the Tla’amin Nation’s choreographer Cameron Fraser-Monroe.

Wever’s work, Unconditional, is an abstract piece reflecting on water as a source of life, memory, and unconditional love. Rich with metaphor and symbolism, the work asks viewers to consider what it means to love imperfectly – and when to give ourselves grace along the way.

Minkeo Williams’ new work explores the passage of time and how the people in our lives come to mark them.

Fraser-Monroe’s work celebrates Native American Jazz, and is set to music from the Delbert Anderson Trio album, “Manitou.”

Together, the three compelling works explore connection, identity, and unconditional love.
